Jill A. Schuker
Jill A. Schuker
Fellow
President of JAS International and Adjunct Professor at The Fletcher School, Tufts University
 
Jill A. Schuker is the current President of the international strategic communications and counseling firm, JAS International, and was Special Assistant to President Bill Clinton for National Security Affairs. She was also Senior Director for Communications at the National Security Council.

Schuker’s past experience includes service as head of press and public affairs at the U.S. Department of Commerce and Deputy Spokeswoman at the U.S. Department of State. She was Counselor for Press and Public Affairs at the U.S. Mission to the United Nations under President Jimmy Carter, as Press Secretary for New York Governor Hugh Carey. Schuker has also spent time as a Legislative Assistant on Capitol Hill and Executive Director of the bipartisan New England Congressional Caucus.

She is a member of the Council on Foreign Relations and a Board Member of the Atlantic Council of the United States. She has written and lectured extensively on public diplomacy and headed the Public Diplomacy Policy Task Force in the 2004 campaign for Democratic Presidential Candidate John Kerry.
