Sherine Badawi Walton

Sherine B. Walton is the Deputy Director of the USC Center on Public Diplomacy, a cross disciplinary research, teaching and training center focused on public diplomacy. As Deputy Director, she is in charge of the Center's daily operations, developing its publication program, and communication outreach to its diverse constituents.

Prior to joining the Center, she spent three years as director of Development at the USC Annenberg School for Communication, one of the country's premier journalism and communication schools. In this role, she oversaw the School's major gifts program, introduced a new membership group for planned giving donors and worked closely with the USC Center on Public Diplomacy to raise awareness and build support of its work.

Before her affiliation with USC, Sherine was a Development Executive at the University of Oxford in the United Kingdom, responsible for the University's relations with UK Trusts and Foundations. From 1994-2000, she worked for The Metropolitan Museum of Art, NY, in Development and in the Egyptian Art Department. She has also worked at the American University in Cairo and as a freelance contributor to Paris City Magazine.

Sherine received her B.A. in Political Science and French from Wellesley College, and, during her junior year at the Institut d' Études Politiques in Paris, she developed a keen interest in ancient Egyptian art and history. She went on to receive her M.A. in Art History from the Institute of Fine Arts, New York University, where she also achieved ABD status in the doctoral program. She speaks English, French, and Arabic.
