Vivien Pertusot

Candidate for a Master's degree in Mediterranean Studies


Vivien Pertusot is completing a Master's degree in Mediterranean Studies at King's College in London. His thesis focuses on US public diplomacy efforts in Arab regional TV media. He received his undergraduate diploma in History and Political Science from the University of Lille 3 in France. He also studied at Southwestern University in Texas as an exchange student where he became acquainted with public diplomacy through Joseph Nye's work.

As a summer intern at the USC Center on Public Diplomacy, Vivien writes articles for the Center's wiki, special reports, and helps with other research on international broadcasting and topics related to the Middle East.

Vivien has previously worked for the French regional daily Nice Matin and now writes columns about US foreign policy and Middle East current affairs on a French blog. He is very interested in journalism and the Middle East and plans to work there. Vivien is from Le Chesnay, France, outside Paris.
