June 24, 2007 - Present

This Media Monitor tracks coverage of the United States' newest military command in Africa, AFRICOM. Updated regularly, the Monitor provides a window into local African coverage as well as international perspectives on the subject.

Local African Coverage / International Coverage

It is part of a long term focus on AFRICOM by the Center on Public Diplomacy and the USC Annenberg School for Communication.  In February 2008, CPD co-hosted a conference on the year old command and in March 2008 the USC Annenberg School presented a policy briefing for AFRICOM in Washington, D.C.
