The USC Master of Public Diplomacy combines the resources of the Annenberg School for Communication and the College's School of International Relations offering the first of its kind degree program in public diplomacy. Below is an alphabetized selection of other academic institutions that provide training and courses in public diplomacy.


Master/Postgraduate Diploma in Contemporary Diplomacy
The Diplo Foundation and the University of Malta, Msida, Malta

The program's courses cover traditional and contemporary topics in diplomacy, including Public Diplomacy, Cyber Diplomacy, Language and Diplomacy, and 21st Century Diplomacy, among others.

Master's in Media and Public Affairs
George Washington University, Washington D.C., USA

Offered by George Washington University's School of Media and Public Affairs, the program focuses on the interactions among media, domestic and international politics, strategic and political communication, public diplomacy, globalization and economics.

M.A. in Global Communication
George Washington University, Washington D.C., USA

Offered jointly by GW's Elliott School of International Affairs and Columbian College of Arts and Sciences' School of Media and Public Affairs, this new graduate program helps students understand the complex global information environment, its implications for governance, security, and business, and how to communicate effectively to global audiences.

M.A. in Statecraft and World Politics, M.A. in Statecraft and National Security Affairs, and M.A. in Strategic Intelligence Studies
The Institute of World Politics, Washington D.C., USA

The Institute offers three Master’s degrees with courses in Public Diplomacy and Political Warfare, Strategic Information Warfare, Mass Media and World Politics, Foreign Propaganda, Perceptions and Policy.

Dual Degree Program in International Relations and Public Relations
Syracuse University, Syracuse, NY, USA

Geared for students interested in Public Diplomacy, this new dual degree program, affords the opportunity to complete an M.S. in Public Relations from Syracuse University's S.I. Newhouse School of Public Communications, along with an M.A. in International Relations from the Maxwell School of Citizenship and Public Affairs.

Masters in War, Media and Modernity
University of Kent, Canterbury, Kent, UK

The program explores how conflict occurs across a variety of countries and landscapes in the late nineteenth and twentieth centuries, and how such conflict is managed and presented through media and propaganda up to the present day. It also considers the application of technology in warfare and the impact of the media on public opinion.

M.A. in International Communications
University of Leeds, Leeds, UK
Based at Leeds University's Institute of Communication Studies, the program provides an interdisciplinary perspective on international communications focusing on issues of public diplomacy, international broadcasting and journalism, communications policy and industry, and the political and cultural aspects of international communications, especially as expressed in transnational practices.
