EDUCAUSE Conference
Hot Topics Discussion on Virtual Worlds, Annenberg Island
On Thursday, October 25th, 2007, Educause held their Annual Conference in Seattle that was simulcasted at the USC Center on Public Diplomacy Annenberg Island in Second Life for a Hot Topic Discussion on Virtual Worlds.
The discussion brought together people who discussed how virtual learning environments impact all facets of the institution; to explore how teaching in a virtual environment will be the next big thing.

THE CULTURAL CENTER, BRADESCO, PORTUGUESE
On Saturday, October 13, 2007, Joshua S. Fouts delivered a two hour lecture about Public Diplomacy and 3-D Immersive Web in Portuguese addressed to the Cultural Center event sponsored by Bradesco, the largest bank in Brazil.

PD GAMES COMPETITION
USC Center on Public Diplomacy hosted a contest for people to showcase their talent with a bit of world class game-making. The challenge to the game mod community, and current and aspiring game designers was as folllows: design a prototype or modify a game incorporating the fundamental characteristics of public diplomacy.

The USC Center on Public Diplomacy, in collaboration with Linden Lab®, hosted the 2007 iCommons Summit on USC's Annenberg Island in Second Life
With a focus on both ‘big ideas’ and practical examples of how open sharing on the Internet is driving business development, increased innovation, quality education and advances in science, the iCommons Summit was a must-attend for the pioneers with a stake in how the Internet must evolve in the future.

USC's CENTER ON PUBLIC DIPLOMACY & U.S. STATE DEPARTMENT BUREAU OF INTERNATIONAL INFORMATION PROGRAMS HOST A SPEAKER SERIES IN SECOND LIFE
 On June 12, 2007, the U.S. Department of State Bureau of International Information Programs (IIP), in cooperation with the USC Center on Public Diplomacy at the Annenberg School brought together members of Second Life Educators (SLED) to the second IIP-USC Speaker Program: "Accessibility in the 3-D Environment: Virtual Worlds and People with Disabilities"
